Homemade Chicken and Vegetable Dog Food
Ingredients
1 pound (450g) lean ground chicken or turkey
1 cup brown rice, cooked
1 cup sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
1/2 cup carrots, peeled and diced
1/2 cup peas (frozen or fresh)
1/2 cup spinach, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
Cook the Rice: In a medium saucepan, cook the brown rice according to the package instructions. Set aside.
Cook the Meat: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground chicken or turkey and cook until fully browned and cooked through, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.
Add Vegetables: Add the sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, and spinach to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender.
Combine Ingredients: Add the cooked brown rice to the skillet and mix everything together until well combined.
Cool and Serve: Allow the homemade dog food to cool completely before serving it to your dog. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for longer storage.
